Educational Music & Arts Program
American Roots Music program will take students and faculty on a musical journey through America’s rich music history. From Amazing Grace to today’s Hip hop, audiences of all kinds will experience an awakening of the depth and significance American Music has had worldwide.

Performed by Boogie Chillun, this journey is targeted at all age groups and has been performed at various educational locations including schools, elementary to high school, as well as a variety of community venues such as museums and libraries.
American Roots Music transcends all boundaries, cultures, races, creeds and colors. As you travel along this musical journey, each song or medley is prefaced by a brief historic fact including artist details and contributions the selection has made to American Music. Boogie Chillun culminates this experience with their own hallmark song, “Read Baby Read!”
The Sounds of Motown program takes listeners on a musical journey through the urban city of Detroit Michigan. Rich with culture, the soulful sounds of the streets became the sound of Motown known as the music of young America.
This performance highlights famous Motown artist such as The Temptations, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Motown founder, Berry Gordy Jr.
Boogie Chillun is sure to make you dance, clap and sing-a-long to The Sounds of Motown. This is a must see performance for all ages. (K-12)
A Celebration of the Season is a special presentation designed to engage and captivate a diverse audience using a conglomerate of holiday songs from various religious and cultural segments.
Through interactive, sing-a-long style music, young and old will encounter the celebration of the Festival of Lights, Christ the Savior’s birth and the Principles of Kwanzaa.
Boogie Chillun’s charismatic style highlights the spirit of the season drawing families and communities together.
“I wanted to drop you a note to let you know what a fabulous time we had today at Johnson School with Boogie Chillun. They had our kids entertained from start to finish. The kids could not sit still and at the end they all started shouting encore encore and clapping. I have been organizing assemblies for our elementary school for 7 years now and I have never seen such an enthusiastic reaction from the kids (and teachers!) One boy came up to me at the end to ask if they could come back next Monday. This is a must see performance!”
