Our American Roots Music program invites students, faculty, and audiences of all ages on an inspiring musical journey through the rich history of America's sound—from the timeless "Amazing Grace" to today's vibrant hip-hop. This engaging experience awakens a deeper appreciation for the profound global impact of American music.
Performed live by Boogie Chillun, the program is designed for every age group and has been presented at diverse educational settings—from elementary and high schools to colleges—as well as community venues like museums and libraries.
American Roots Music unites people across all boundaries, cultures, races, creeds, and colors. Throughout the journey, each song or medley is introduced with fascinating historical context, including key artist details and the selection's lasting contributions to American musical heritage. Boogie Chillun culminates this unforgettable experience with their original hallmark song, “Read Baby Read!”
Our Sounds of Motown program takes audiences on a captivating musical journey through the bustling streets of Detroit, Michigan—a city steeped in culture, where the soulful rhythms of urban life evolved into the iconic Motown sound, famously known as the "Sound of Young America."
This lively performance celebrates legendary Motown artists, including The Temptations, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and the pioneering founder, Berry Gordy Jr.
Led by Boogie Chillun, this high-energy show will have you dancing, clapping, and singing along to timeless hits! It's a must-see experience suitable for all ages (K-12).
Our A Celebration of the Season is a heartfelt special presentation crafted to engage and delight diverse audiences with a vibrant mix of holiday songs drawn from various religious and cultural traditions.
Through interactive, sing-a-long style music, audiences young and old will joyfully explore the Festival of Lights (Hanukkah), the birth of Christ the Savior (Christmas), and the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.
With Boogie Chillun’s charismatic and uplifting style, this performance captures the true spirit of the season, bringing families and communities together in celebration.
“I wanted to drop you a note to let you know what a fabulous time we had today at Johnson School with Boogie Chillun. They had our kids entertained from start to finish. The kids could not sit still and at the end they all started shouting encore encore and clapping. I have been organizing assemblies for our elementary school for 7 years now and I have never seen such an enthusiastic reaction from the kids (and teachers!) One boy came up to me at the end to ask if they could come back next Monday. This is a must see performance!”
